JIM PENSON  has been building and repairing instruments since 1980. He built his first instrument, an F5 model mandolin in 1980 and wished he'd chosed something a bit easier.

Jim specializes in setups and restorations, but builds instruments as well.  He typically works on the bluegrass instruments; banjo, guitar, mandolin, dobro, but also restores violins and has worked on bazoukis, ukuleles, dulcimers, basses. He also does setups and restorations to electric guitars. 

He is also a bluegrass musician who teaches and plays in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
